Change your perception to change your direction

Each morning I wake up and decide what I’ll dismiss and contribute to my journey. And continuously changing my perception has been one of the most impactful changes I’ve ever made. It’s allowed me to climb out of ditches that were detrimental to my success. And completely shut out all the outside noises and distractions and listen to just me for once.

Too often are we persuaded by social media and its ever-changing voices to conform and follow suit with what the crowd is doing. And Honey let me tell you; I refuse to be a damn puppet.

It's so crucial for me to stay in my lane and adhere to my dreams. My legacy and my children’s legacy depend on it. One of the most important things I can do is evolve. To remain the same is to live a life full of regrets. Always in an everlasting loop of what-if scenarios that never happened because I wasn’t brave enough to leap into the unknown.

Tell me, would you want to live a life like that? I know I don’t. I enjoy lively stories to tell my kids and grandkids in hopes of inspiring them to want to be someone great one day. To do that, I have to change the way I see myself and everything I’ve ever gone through. I have to accept my emotions for what they are and push through to experience the new. I have to be able to acknowledge that what I am feeling is temporary. To not get caught up in feeling like the grass is greener on the other side and remember I have to water my side too. I can’t always be worried about what the outside thinks about my point of view. They aren’t standing where I’m standing. They don't have my view.
